Bank of America Short Sales - One of the Worst
2010-07-08

My buyers wanted a house in Spring Hill (Hernando County) and they are from New Jersey, so through an automatic e-mail, we notify them of homes coming on.

I am not a big fan of short sales and always tell my buyers that. However, there was a house that my buyer really wanted; they put in an offer and the listing agent didn't want to put it "active with contract" because he didn't want to take it off the MLS. I still wonder about that. However, he finally did on April 30th anticipating that we could close and my customer could get the tax credit.

Guess what? Bank of America just notified us that they made a "mistake" in the system, have to cancel it and re-enter it. So we have to start from the beginning and it could take another 60 days; therefore, probably losing the tax credit. We also don't know if they have accepted the contract yet. This has been going on since the beginning of April; it is ridiculous and they should be help accountable for it; or rectify it on their end. Unfortunately, we have no control over it.

Again, be cautious with "short sales"; there are no assurances and you have wasted time.

We will always keep you posted!
