Homeowners Facing Foreclosure Wont Get Their Day in Court
2010-04-22

A new bill called the Homeowner Relief and Housing Recovery Act is trying to be passed in Tallahassee. It would allow the banks to foreclose without the homeowner having his/her day in Court. What is happening to us? The banks, who are supose to be helping people, will now be afforded the opportunity to make it "easy" to foreclose on our people who are having a difficult time making payments.

On Wednesday, a group of upset homeowners went to Tallahassee to oppose this bill. However, it is on the doorstep of becoming law. So if a homeowner wants to dispute the foreclosure, they have to hire an attorney? Let's see here; their house is going into foreclosure so they have no money, where would they get the money to pay an attorney to fight this and possibly give them a few months to live in their home?

What happened to let's help the people, instead of the banks who put us here in the first place? I love this country but sometimes they don't protect who they need to.

As a Realtor in Hernando County (Spring Hill, Brooksville and Weeki Wachee areas), I have seen some sad situations. Our citizens should not be losing their homes and now making it even easier for the banks to do it. We should be helping the people stay in their homes.

We will always keep you posted!

Have a great day and enjoy!
