It's going to be cold tonight, looks like a hard freeze is coming this way! Pinellas County is expected to get down into the mid 40's, while the Tampa area of Hillsborough County should creep down into the upper 30's, however Hernando and Citrus Counties are looking at a hard freeze and temperatures down into the 20's and even colder for Friday!
Here are some frosty tips to heed during the next few days:
1. Make sure that your water lawn today; it will add an insulation period for your plants.
2. Bring any of your potted plants inside your home and cover up your outside plants. Be sure to use a rock or some sort of heavy object to hold down the sheets or blankets that you will be using, as gusty winds usually accompany a cold front.
3. If your Christmas lights are still up, keep them that way, it will add a little extra heat to your outside plants!
4. When you leave for work in the morning, if you find frost on your windshield, pour luke warm water on the glass with the windshield wipers on, be certain that the water is not hot as this can crack your windshield.
5. Make sure that your stairs aren't icy when you walk out the front door! Pour regular old table salt on the stairs, if need be!
Make sure you bundle up, it's gonna be a cold one!
